I want to go abroad but my parents will not understand (Mind block). I want to be an actress but what my neighbours will say (Mind block). I want to travel alone but some random guys may tease me (Mind block). I want to wear this dress but people may not like it (Mind block).
The question is “What are mind blocks?”
I think it is a word for the hurdles we have created our self in our mind for restricting our selves. The question is why we create hurdles for our self which stops us from moving towards the goal we have decided to achieve. I think somehow it is not in our control until we identify the problem because we don’t even realize that we are not taking an important step because of a mind block which is actually our hypothesis. These are thoughts stored in our mind which actually are not ours but are of others. We grow up listening to what people around us talk about, we like it or not it goes into our mind, these things are washed off as the time passes leaving some impressions on our mind. These impressions may act in both ways positive and negative. When we are going to take some decision, all these impressions get activated unknowingly and make effect on what we decide and how we act.
If mind blocks creates both positive and negative effects, I am saying this because some people around us inspires us and some discourages, but if this is true then why these are called “Blocks” why not “Accelerators” or something like that. I think most of the time others project all their fears in front of us and all those fears goes straight into our mind and all those fears related to the particular situation suddenly comes out when we want to take a decision.
We cannot neglect this effect nor we can ignore but yes we may minimise it, if we act intelligent. One way is, when people discuss about the fears related to some incident, oppose it at the same time. People may not like it but our mind will not let those fears enter in it. Another way is to face all your fears, this technique always work. :)

I believe Mind Blocks are of two types: one which we can overlook like what our neighbors think of us (Society) and second is from our Family which we sometimes cannot overlook because we fear to hurt and lose our loved ones.

ReplyDeleteI dont think that family differs from society. And if someone claims his love for you and cannot accept what you think and want then actually he is making fool of you. This is valid for you, me and for all. Our parents, spouse, brother, sister or anyone this applies to all.

ReplyDeleteI understand what you are saying. Obviously if someone loves you, will definitely agree with you if he/she came to know about your wishes. But, small mindblocks are created if you very well know that by saying or doing this you are going to hurt him/her deeply. This is not a very serious issue but it happens generally between people of different thinking.
